PROJECTS
AFTER THE VALLEY FIRE
These photographs were taken in the days immediately following the Valley Fire in September 2015. Through this series, my intention was to document this once-familiar landscape, reconfigured by the fire. I often describe my work as being situated in the intersection of fine art and photojournalism. My hope is the viewer will contemplate the composition of this tragedy- aesthetically and figuratively, and see how fragile and vulnerable everything is at its principle essence. Through the prism of its shattered beauty, we may finally realize certain truths we are otherwise unable to see. View photos.
INMORTALES
Two years in the making Inmortales was debuted this August in Spain. Inmortales is a project that pays homage to the elders of the Valderredible Valley, a small agricultural community in the Cantabria region of Northern Spain. In the wake of cultural and economic shifts, the way of life of the remaining population is slowly fading away. These portraits reflect the humble and rich lives of Valderredible Valley elders- their history and their untold stories depicted in their faces. View photos.
